Step by step
1. Start position
Sit in the leg press and place the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the platform.
2. Mid-rep
Pause briefly in the stretch.
3. End of the movement
Press through the balls of your feet to point the toes fully.

How to do it
Setup
- 1Sit in the leg press and place the balls of your feet on the bottom edge of the platform.
- 2Press the platform up with straight, but not hard-locked, knees.
- 3Keep the safety catches engaged if your machine allows calf raises with them on.
Execution
- 1Let the platform push your toes back toward you into a deep calf stretch.
- 2Pause briefly in the stretch.
- 3Press through the balls of your feet to point the toes fully.
- 4Squeeze at the top, then lower slowly.

Common mistakes
Bending the knees to help
Keep the knee angle fixed so only the ankles move.
Feet too low so they risk slipping off
Place the balls of the feet firmly on the edge with enough contact.
