Step by step
1. Start position
Stand tall with feet hip width, a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs.
2. Mid-rep
Keep the spine neutral as the torso tips forward.
3. End of the movement
Stop when you feel a strong hamstring stretch, usually around mid-shin.

How to do it
Setup
- 1Stand tall with feet hip width, a dumbbell in each hand in front of your thighs.
- 2Soften the knees slightly and lock them at that angle.
- 3Pull the shoulders back and brace your core.
Execution
- 1Push the hips back and slide the dumbbells down the front of your legs.
- 2Keep the spine neutral as the torso tips forward.
- 3Stop when you feel a strong hamstring stretch, usually around mid-shin.
- 4Drive the hips forward to stand, squeezing the glutes.

Breathe in as you hinge down, breathe out as you stand.

Common mistakes
Squatting down instead of hinging
Keep the knee angle fixed and move only at the hips.
Rounding the back to go lower
Stop where the spine stays neutral — depth comes from hamstring length.

Keep the lats tight and the weights close to your thighs and shins.
