Step by step
1. Start position
Place a heavy dumbbell or kettlebell beside each foot.
2. Mid-rep
Keep the weights still at your sides — no swinging.
3. End of the movement
Maintain an upright posture without leaning to either side.
4. Common mistake
Shoulders shrugging up toward the ears
Ways to do it
Forearms & grip on 2 different setups — pick whatever is free in your gym. Progress is tracked separately for each.
How to do it
Setup
- 1Place a heavy dumbbell or kettlebell beside each foot.
- 2Hinge with a flat back, grip both handles tightly, and stand up.
- 3Stand tall with shoulders down and back and core braced.
Execution
- 1Walk forward with short, controlled steps.
- 2Keep the weights still at your sides — no swinging.
- 3Maintain an upright posture without leaning to either side.
- 4Set the weights down with a hinge at the end of the distance.
Breathing
Take short, controlled breaths while keeping the core braced throughout the walk.

Common mistakes

Pull the shoulders down and back and keep the neck long.
Leaning or wobbling side to side
Brace the core and take shorter steps.

Hinge at the hips with a flat back to lift and lower them.

Static hold through the arms and trunk while walking; no joint range targeted.
