Method

  1. 1

Add the milk to the blender first, then the yogurt, whey, frozen berries and frozen banana.

  2. 2

Blend on low, stopping to scrape down the sides, until thick and smooth. Add milk a tablespoon at a time only if the blades stall — it should be thicker than a drinking smoothie.

  3. 3

Scoop into a chilled bowl and smooth the top with the back of a spoon.

  4. 4

Top with rows of granola, fresh berries and chia seeds. Eat straight away before it melts.

Substitutions

  • Vegan: use soy yogurt, oat milk and a pea or soy protein powder.
  • Lower-carb: skip the banana and granola, and top with 15 g toasted almonds instead (about −30 g carbs).
  • No high-power blender? Let the fruit soften for 5 minutes first and use a stick blender in a tall jug.
